The Desktop Screen Record 5 Toolbar is shown below.

To start recording, click the red record button or choose File:Record from the menu.

To pause a recording to adjust your screen, click the pause button or choose File:Pause from the menu. You can resume recording by clicking on the record button again.

When you want to stop recording, click the blue stop button or choose File:Stop from the menu. A dialog will appear for you to name and save the file.

To customize the way the program behave when it starts/stops recording, click this button to use the general options, or choose File:General Options.

To optimize your video recordings by choosing between the file size, quality and frame rates of your video files, you can click this button to use the video opions, or choose File:Video Options.

To set the recording format and compressed format of your audio, you can click this button to use the audio options, or choose File:Audio Options.

To illustrate the action you are recording by drawing attention to the area where the action happens, you can click this button to use the cursor options, or choose File:Cursor Options.

To customize your shortcut keys for starting, stopping or canceling your recording operation, you can click this button to use the hotkeys, or choose File:Hotkeys.

Status Bar placed along the bottom of the menu, is virtually equivalent to a standard box, but may be rendered differently. It shows to tell you the status your recording are in, for example, "Ready", it may indicate that your are ready to start recording or stop recording.
